Who doesn't know it by now? You bravely update Windows 10 to the latest, and something stops working.
These annoyances are becoming almost habit these day. And yet, there's always someone smarter than Microsoft.
If you're Microphone also stopped working, it's probably the same reason as mine. Not that my Soundcard, which is a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 5 RX, had a driver issue, like all the Microsoft support agents are trying to convince you in their forums. No, there is a much easier explanation:
Microsoft want's you to start using their new Application settings. If you go to Settings/Privacy/Microphone, you most likely will find that your Microphone is denied interaction with apps. Now turn this on and all the other Windows programs can start using the mic again as well! (Like Audacity in my case).
